Callout after 9pm, Sundays and holidaysAfter hours$195/hr$550 minimum
Same-day callout, any hourEmergency$260/hr$650 minimum

Most of the work here is done at the bench, and a part brought in is billed by the hour from the time the work starts, with a one hour minimum and nothing added for a trip. A callout is the other way around: the minimum covers the drive, the equipment for the day and the first two hours on site, and the clock runs by the quarter hour after that. Several jobs at one address, or several stops on the same run, are billed at the hourly rate without a second minimum. Rates do not stack, so a callout at 10pm is billed at the emergency rate rather than at the emergency and the after-hours rate together. Example jobs and what they came to are on the welding rates page.

What you can bring to the welding shop

Most repairs do not need anybody to drive out. If the part comes off, or the whole thing rolls, it costs less at the bench.

Comes to the shop

Needs a callout

  • Equipment broken down in the field that cannot be moved
  • Tool bars and frames still mounted on the tractor
  • Driveway gates hung on set posts
  • Corral panels and fence lines set in the ground
  • Bins, tanks and hoppers already stood up
  • Truck frames and service bodies where the part does not come off
  • Anything too heavy to load without a forklift
A trailer is a shop job.

Utility, flatbed, gooseneck and dump trailers tow in on their own wheels, so trailer repair on the deck, fenders, ramps, gates and cross members is billed at the shop rate rather than as a callout.

Most of this work does not need a truck sent out.

How we work

The price comes off the clock and the drive

The same hourly rate applies to a tractor and to a gate, during harvest or any other time of the year.

The rate is published

The rate is printed on this site and does not change once the truck is loaded.

Some repairs are not worth doing

When a new part costs less than the hours it would take to repair the old one, that comes up on the phone before anybody drives out.

If a weld of ours fails

Call the shop and Joaquin will come back out and look at it.

Small repairs you can make yourself

Bring the part by and Joaquin will point out where the bead goes.

Not sure we take it?

Describe the job and add a photo, and the page will give you one of four answers. There is no charge for it and you do not have to leave your number.

Questions we get

What does welding cost in Fresno?

A part brought to the shop is $85 an hour with a one hour minimum and nothing added for a trip. A callout booked ahead is $130 an hour with a $450 minimum that covers the drive, the equipment for the day and the first two hours on site. After 9pm, Sundays and holidays are $195 an hour with a $550 minimum, and a same-day callout is $260 an hour with a $650 minimum.

Do I bring it to you, or do you come out?

Most work is done at the shop in Fresno and the address goes out once a time is set. Equipment that cannot be moved gets a callout around Fresno, Clovis, Sanger, Selma, Kerman, Reedley and Madera.

Can you weld aluminum?

Joaquin Ag Repair takes smaller aluminum and stainless jobs, and a photo sent ahead of time is usually enough to say whether the part is one we can weld.

Do you work weekends?

Saturdays are a normal working day here and evenings run through the week.

What do I need to do before you show up?

Disconnect the batteries on anything with electronics, clear flammables ten feet back, wash the area if it is greasy, and block anything the part is holding up.

Do you charge to look at it?

There is no charge for a quote, and most of them are done from a photo over the phone.
